Description: 'October 8, 2010 et al.' presents a trio of carefully selected works by Kenneth Kirschner. 'October 8, 2010' features piano manipulations that have been improvised together with a few deeply eroded electronic phrases. It’s a magnificent opener. 'July 6, 2010' contains a sparse and wonderfully fragile piano texture with a few finely worked tones that fleetingly diffuse the ether. Abstracted and strangulated genius. 'September 5, 2010' is even more elusive, yet follows the analogous arrangement of the first two tracks with heavily edited piano clusters fading in and out throughout. A tremendous gathering of absorbing pieces.

I came to this album (and label) via acloserlisten.com, and picked up the CD--great packaging!--through Stashed Goods. One of my favourite albums of 2016 that can be played at any time: it has such a nice relaxing feel to it that kind of washes over you as you listen. In places (e.g. "Before") it reminds me a bit of Ludovico Einaudi. Great stuff! Gordon
