about

Description: Part 3 and 4 of the 'I Always Wanted A Standing Cat' 7" gathering sees Steve Roden and Stephen Vitiello drawing on their influences, adapting and reacting to one another to create a very expressive style of experimental composition blushing with gorgeous atmospherics and gentle rhythms. The set is made up of four wonderful movements that feel as if they're on the brink of total collapse. Part 3 includes 'All The Greens' and 'Young Tongue', two pieces that are languorous, quite unsettling and incredibly beautiful and fragile. Spellbinding work. The introspective and intimate flourishes of 'Swallow Tails' open part 4 before the set concludes with the sublime elegance of 'In Wind Of Chestnut'. An immensely personal group of tracks from this attuned duo. Sleepy, slow shifting, stunning.
