Description: A momentous occasion in the Champion Version catalogue, ‘Anterne’ contains a new two-track selection of works from Parisian duo Germain Fraïssé and Guillaume Evrard, collectively known as GNG, who layer delicate strands of ambient guitar, one upon another with heavily edited instrumentation and found sounds. For the first track ‘Anterne Partie 1’, Fraïssé and Evrard wander through shimmering guitar arpeggios and cinematic reverse leads, all building up to a beautiful and intensely resonant piece of unhurried and measured post-rock. The melodies here are lavish, deliberate and gorgeous. The subtly panoramic 'Anterne Partie 2' comes next with guitars strung tightly together in the most beautiful fashion, while microscopic, crackling gestures lay out a backdrop of spatially enriched static. A truly excellent record. Super.
