Description: In 2015 we released 'Movements' by Clusters, a beautifully understated manifesto of minimalist exploration. It's easy to appreciate Clusters' dedication to sparse disposition over mere passive mood and 'Equal Spaces' further advances the aural structures of their collective approach. Overlapping loops by running faint electric bass textures through a Revox reel-to-reel tape recorder, increasingly abstract tones are layered into a shimmering cloud of sound over which further experiments are improvised in real time. 'Equal Spaces' breaks down into four long sections, yet once you've settled into its pace and atmosphere it becomes hard to tell where one starts and the other ends. What An Ending Ascend and Minus Pilots perfectly emphasise through their Clusters collaboration is the human element, how instinct and reaction can delicately alter the parameters of a closed system. 'Equal Spaces' is an absorbing offering of slow moving, immersive harmonics. Slow-motion repetition.

Even if he says otherwise, Ian Hawgood is super prolific and incredibly talented in not only his own releases, but in collaborations and with the heart & soul put into the labels he's run over the years.
Saying all that, this is a more recent favorite release of Ian's: peaceful, deceivingly simple (yet not!) piano works that is personal, elegant and graceful in its warmth and presentation. Plus it's for a wonderful cause. Get it!! Joe Borreson

"Dissolve" shows a lot of unique and emotional layers and textures. To people who haven't heard this so far, you need to hear this because this is what ambient deserves to be: slow, drifting, and able to evoke emotions which they do perfectly. 6 amazing songs to get lost inside. Visual Complexity
