Description: Following on from their 'Stillness, Motion, Geometry, Light' 10", Minus Pilots have once again successfully pulled together a group of incredible musicians that has resulted in the minimalist and modern-classical movements of 'The Constellation Walks'. The music presented here results from live looping experiments using a six-string electric bass as the primary sound source and embellished with quiet percussive flourishes, layers of violins, cello, double bass and even a trumpet. The result is an intimate and evolving sound, sculpted in the moment and edited after much reflection. A deeply contemplative affair.

Even if he says otherwise, Ian Hawgood is super prolific and incredibly talented in not only his own releases, but in collaborations and with the heart & soul put into the labels he's run over the years. Saying all that, this is a more recent favorite release of Ian's: peaceful, deceivingly simple (yet not!) piano works that is personal, elegant and graceful in its warmth and presentation.
