Description: Transcendent, thick and looped ambient layering from Andrew Cooke and his excellent Saltings moniker. Cooke assembles a moving sound world fashioned from samples of dense drone layered with substantially manipulated field recordings. Over both sides, the results provide a broad sense of space and place with its declining harmonic structures and shimmering, sparse melodies reduced in an abstract impressionist fashion. Sprawling, epic and vast in scale, you have one week.
