Description: This record was supposed to be a documentation of Rutger’s performances during a trip to Tokyo in November 2010. But after drawing a 'Bad Fortune' card at a Buddhist temple, fate, or the gods, decided otherwise. Broken equipment, a power cut, rubbish sound systems and a malfunctioning recorder ruined this plan. Luckily, however, one of the performances was captured on film. The fractured lo-fi sound of that recording has been used for the wonderful ten minute edit 'Ringoya, Tokyo' contained on the A side of this release. So in the end, not all was lost, and the other live edit, 'Aether, Rotterdam', just seemed to fit perfectly with this cut. Both pieces included on this record demonstrate Machinefabriek’s distinguished emphasis on embracing the concept of minimalism. A triumphant 10".
"Dissolve" shows a lot of unique and emotional layers and textures. To people who haven't heard this so far, you need to hear this because this is what ambient deserves to be: slow, drifting, and able to evoke emotions which they do perfectly. 6 amazing songs to get lost inside. Visual Complexity
